TCG Card Shop Simulator Crashes, Lag and Save Fixes

Stutter and crashes when ordering stock

This is the most common serious problem and it has a specific cause. Every box you order spawns as a physical object in the scene. Order hundreds at once and you have hundreds of physics objects, which is enough to stutter a capable machine and crash a modest one.

The developer has addressed it twice: build 0.62 capped how many package boxes can exist at once (extra orders are held and spawn as existing boxes are cleared), and build 0.62.2 added a setting to adjust the package box spawn limit. Lower it if you are crashing.

Practical version: order in batches, clear boxes onto shelves before ordering again, and keep the spawn limit conservative on older hardware. The published requirements are modest — a GTX 1050 minimum, a GTX 1070 recommended — because the GPU is rarely the bottleneck.

Framerate after 1.0

Version 1.0 optimised models and textures and reduced overall memory usage, but framerate complaints are the loudest single topic on both the Steam forum and the subreddit in the days after launch, and they are heaviest on console. There is no user-side fix for that beyond the spawn-limit setting; it is a known post-launch issue.

Saves that will not load

Two distinct causes, and they need different fixes.

Modded saves. If a save refuses to load, or reports “Shelf data not loaded correctly”, and it still fails after you remove the mods — the save itself has been altered and removing the mod does not undo that. Build 0.63 was the update that broke this for a lot of people, and the developer opened a frozen Steam beta branch for 0.62 specifically so mod users could roll back. Rolling back to the build your mods targeted, or waiting for the mod update, are the two clean options. See the mods page for the full compatibility picture.

Everything else. Saves carried over cleanly from 0.70 to 1.0; no new save was needed. There is no cross-save between consoles and Steam.

Worker duties reset after saving

Not a bug you can patch around — saving after the shop closes at 9pm does not retain assigned duties. Save before closing and the assignments persist. Build 1.0 also fixed workers losing their skill level if fired and then saved.

”My graded cards disappeared”

Graded cards do not sit in the normal album. Sort the album with the Graded button to see them. If you are looking for where they can be stored, the Card Storage Shelf was requested for graded cards specifically and is worth checking against your build. Build 1.01 also changed the end of the grading reveal so you finish holding all the graded cards rather than having to pick them up.

Tournaments that stall or lose their prize shelf

  • Winners sometimes fail to path to the Prize Shelf. Keep the shelf on the shop floor rather than in the storage room.
  • Saving mid-tournament corrupted saves before build 0.70.1.
  • Ending the day while a tournament was still running scrambled pairing data before 0.70.3.
  • Build 1.02 shipped a fix for tournaments that would not progress and for being unable to join a match that had not started.

If a tournament is stuck on a build older than 1.02, updating is the fix. Full setup detail is on the tournaments page.

Where to report a bug

The developer posts build notes on Steam and is active in the community Discord. Bug reports go there rather than to third-party sites — including this one.
