TCG Card Shop Simulator Reviews: Is It Worth It After 1.0?
Reception checked:
What players consistently praise
- ✅ The core loop — order, stock, price, open packs — is genuinely hard to put down; 40.8% of all owners have opened at least 1,000 packs
- ✅ Two years of Early Access shipped the roadmap almost in full: 2,714 cards became 4,436, and 77 sellable items became 111
- ✅ 1.0 finally made the card game playable instead of decorative, and the tournaments you host are now enterable
- ✅ Solo developer with a visible update cadence — 30 build announcements since launch, and two hotfix builds within days of 1.0
What players consistently complain about
- ❌ Performance after 1.0 is the loudest complaint on both the Steam forum and the subreddit, especially framerate on consoles
- ❌ Tournaments still have pathing and progression bugs; 1.02 fixed some, players are still reporting others
- ❌ Late-game ordering spawns hundreds of physics boxes, which is the usual cause of stutter and crash-to-desktop reports
- ❌ No multiplayer, no co-op and no cross-save, and the developer has said none are planned in the near future
Why there is no score here
We have no way to put hundreds of hours into a save and report a defensible score, so we do not invent one. What follows is measurable: the Steam review split, the live concurrent player count and the public achievement unlock rates, each with the date we read it.
Review counts and the player figure come from Steam's public appreviews and player-count endpoints; unlock rates come from the Steam global achievement stats page for app 3070070.
